Notes from SLAIG Teleconference 12/10/2005

  1. Newsletter:  All submissions due by 1/13/2006.  SL’s contribution to come soon.  Those with “Where are they now?” assignments, please submit to Janine ASAP.  Newsletter out around 2/1/2006.
    1. Tshirt/polo shirts- order form in newsletter.  Graphic to be put in newsletter.  Actual cost of tshirt is about $10, and $15-17 for polo shirt.  Shirts to have SLAIG logo on them.  Proposed charge to buyers is $15 and $22.
    2. “Adopt a Lion” idea proposed to be put in newsletter.  People can pay extra money for the Anniversary event to help defray cost of attendance for current group members.
    3. Request for cabaret volunteers in newsletter.
    4. Also other reminders that are listed on today’s meeting agenda (already emailed to Board members.
  2. E-Advertisements (Janine):  One from Tia in next month’s newsletter.  More after newsletter is ready.
  3. Status of Phone Campaign:  Jill, Janine and Tia with some updates.
  4. New email for Pete:  pkiefer@adelphia.net
  5. Lion Mascot at Anniversary event (Jill):  currently scheduled for 6:30-7:00.  Jill to try to move to 8:30-9:00.  Cannot confirm until March, 2006.
  6. Sing, sing, sing Workshop on 4/1/06:  scheduled for 4-5 pm.
  7. Current group:  Still looking for Spring Break performance on the way to Disney.  Contact them with any leads.
  8. Cabaret Band:  Greg Graham to lead.  Set 10 band members so far.
  9. Party Favors/momentos:  pencil/pen in welcome packet.  Tia to order.  No other “gift” to be ordered for welcome packets deemed necessary.
  10. Social Committee:  decorations- Courtney Hall to head.  Help from the current SL members at 5:30-6:00 on Sat.
  11. Sing Along on 4/1/06:  Informal.  Same room as ice cream social.
  12. Kids’ prices for Anniversary (Tim):  Choice of either buffet OR kids meal, like chicken nuggets, hot dogs, etc.  Total cost of Anniversary event for kids~$250-$30.
  13. Breakfast on 4/2/06:  on own.
  14. Group Picture:  at dinner instead of Shrine for better attendance.  Keith proposed sending nice picture to all attendees after event.
  15. Web Page:  Pay pal and other payment options for event set up by January.
  16. Gifts for Margee and Jessica:  Bookends selected no longer available.  Pete scoured the town and found no others appropriate.  Pete to check into other options in State College.  Pete and Sue to make final decision.
  17. Officer elections for SLAIG Board:  openings for President and Secretary (current officers to maintain responsibilities until Anniversary weekend, when titles will officially change.  Final decisions to be made at next Board teleconference on 2/11/2006, 9-10:30 am.
