The Singing Lions are Penn State’s premiere singing and dancing ensemble who have been a part of the University for almost 30 years. Originally founded under the School of Music as the "Penn State Pop Choir," the Singing Lions is now a student-run organization. The group is composed of 20 performers, a piano player, a drummer, and a sound technician.
The variety of songs in their repertoire is very large, consisting of music from Broadway, current hits on the radio, themed medleys, songs that spread Penn State Pride, and many more. . Along with choreographed dance routines, this unique ensemble provides exciting and energy-packed shows! The group performs several times throughout the year at a variety of venues. Aside from winter and spring concerts, an annual cabaret honoring their THON Child, and a cabaret with modern music theatre themes, the group travels into the Penn State community and beyond for everything from campus events such as football games, annual events taking place in the HUB, and PSU Alumni groups to a 10-day Spring Break Tour!
The Singing Lions can also be seen outside the Family Clothesline every Saturday for PSU home football games. This group loves to perform and enjoys providing professional musical entertainment while serving as "Penn State's Singing Ambassadors."
